Over the last...
few weeks, we have seen this virus take a turn for the worse; although most of us can't help but have this underlying feeling of helplessness, we can take one direct action to help flatten the curve + potentially saves someone's life: stay home.
I want to start this post by sharing some GOOD that has come from this virus because right now, this IS the situation at hand and in order to grow new beginnings, we must shift our mindset from being too overwhelmed with the negativity. I too have been directly impacted by this situation (honestly much more than what's being shared on my social channels) + felt myself slipping into a bit of a negative, overwhelmed headspace. It's important we remember that EVERY single person is being impacted by this pandemic. Every single person is being impacted differently + choosing what, how and IF they present things to those outside of their immediate circle.
WITH ALL OF THAT SAID, I have been trying to keep myself busy because I go stir crazy if I am not moving (everyone is different, am I right? ) + I do this through: keeping a consistent routine, setting boundaries/goals and getting myself ready. Below I have included a styling video + pieces I am loving to stay cozy! Please, please remember that as I am sharing this I am by no way trying to imply that there is a 'right' or 'wrong' way to handle this quarantine - everyone copes very differently. We are ALL deserving of respect, patience, love + human connection right now.

the only good thing...
about this quarantine, is the fact that for the most part, we're not required to wear makeup – meaning our skin gets a rest. I've been using this time to really tap into my moisture levels + ensuring my skin is getting the protection, hydration + antioxidants it needs to stay fresh, healthy + well duh, glowy! I've outlined the morning routine I grab when I need to soothe redness, pack in the antioxidants + have a supple hydrated moisture barrier.
So go ahead, let it breathe - give your skin the love + care it deserves.

it seems that the 2020 trends that are trickling in are taking a more bold + out of the box approach with beauty to compliment the softer, more delicate fashion trends we're seeing. (at least that's how I see it!) Below I have outlined a few makeup trends that are too good to NOT hop on the trend bandwagon! From abstract liners to embellished eyes, this years trends are something you won't want to take your eyes off of! (hehe, get it?)
I am so excited...
to share that I have partnered up with a brand I SO believe in + support. A brand that has always been cruelty-free, clean, vegan + so much more - M A D H I P P I E. I am trying out 3 of their products below: cult classic Vitamin C serum, Triple C night cream + Lip & Cheek Tint.
IT's THAT TIME AGAIN...
where NastyGal is doing what they do best, offering a giant discount that's too good to resist! Right now the site is 80% off. I decided to snag a few dresses I thought would be perfect for spring + easy to transition into my summer wardrobe. All items are linked below!
we love a bold print....
+ the sunshine shining down only makes it that much more fierce. Nastygal came out with a silk straight leg trouser pant with the cutest cheetah print (sadly they're now sold out) + I find myself pulling them from my closet at least a few times a month to wear. There's nothing I love more than a canadian tuxedo fit but cheetah on cheetah print is a whole vibe to me right now. I've created a style board inspired by this look (linking any items that I can!) and including items from brands such as NastyGal, Nordstrom, Topshop, Brixton and more. If you create your own look make sure to tag me on IG so I can see! @glowwwithjo
cheers to Friday...
For this weeks Friday Favorites I have chosen the items I have been most frequently grabbing while in quarantine, especially for my self care Friday!

aren't totally a thing right now. Yet, even though we've been home for what seems like forever, that doesn't mean we shouldn't still have our Sunday self care routine!
This Sunday, I decided to give my skin extra hydration since its been feeling tight, dry and dull. I also used my viabuff duo exfoliator loofa (say goodbye to keratosis pilaris!) The viabuff helps exfoliate + boost skins natural cell renewal increasing clarity, dull skin, ingrown hairs and smoothness. it feels like an intense exfoliation but I promise, you'll be left bump free + silky smooth. With all of this down time, i've been able to spend time creating + have decided to apply to be part of the #sephorasquad! If I have impacted you, or we have impacted eachother in our daily life or in the realm of beauty, I would love your support by writing a testimonial. Thank you so much!

There's no denying, I love an oversized blazer. It's an easy way to elevate + bring an instant professional feel to any outfit; i've found my closet full of them this year. I'm loving this Target one in particular + find myself pulling it out of my closet at least twice a week to style with a variety of different fits (i've linked a similar Nordstrom blazer below now that this one is sold out). One of my favorite + most simple ways to style an oversized blazer is pairing it with light-wash straight legged denim, Marc Fisher booties + a Brixton wide brim hat. All in all, blazers aren't just for business anymore!
