IF THERE's ONE THING...I can't live without in my skincare routine, its a good AHA exfoliant; it's no secret that exfoliants help sluff off dead skin cells + debris resulting in increased cell turnover revealing more radiant, smooth, bright, and clearer complexion. If you are seeking the answer to diminishing fine lines + wrinkles, you need an aha/bha in your routine. I had the opportunity to try Philosophy's new Microdelivery Dream Peel, a 6% AHA/BHA refining gel + I am so pleasantly surprised. What are the benefits of using an aha/bha exfoliant?+ diminish the look for fine lines + reveal a smoother, clearer complexion + reduce the severity and frequency of acne + hydrate skin + brighter and firmer skin appearance Philosophy's Dream Peel What it is + how to usePhilosophy's Microdelivery Dream Peel is an overnight 6% aha/bha refining gel that is gentle enough to use for multiple nights in a row. In fact, for the best results the gel is to be used weekly for 3 nights in a row. The packaging uniquely has a flat spatula-like silicon end that dispenses product for easy application. I found that the spatula was helpful in dispersing product to forehead, cheeks and chin but honestly, not completely necessary for this product but I give snaps to the creativity! Although, each time using the spatula it was easy to concentrate the gel in one area but I found myself spreading to the rest of my face using my fingers to get an even constancy. FIRST IMPRESSIONThe gel is pink, making your entire face turn a tiny bit pink - but not in a bad way! I actually found that the mask gave me a nice instant glow and a bit more color than my porcelain skin typically has. I have dry, sensitive skin and experienced a slight tingle the first few minutes of the first initial application but it calmed quickly + was not painful in any way. I used this mask for 4 nights in a row (1 night more than the recommended number of days) + experienced no further irritation. One concern I had was of course, pink on my beloved Target ivory, linen bed set. I waited to 15 minutes for the mask to dry before laying my head on my pillow. That night, I tossed. I turned. I was ALL over the place but when I awoke in the morning to my surprise my pillow was the same shade of ivory as when I had gone to sleep. Success. I will dive deeper into my experience below, but I have used this product 3x a week for the last 3 weeks + I am absolutely hooked. THE WEEK BY WEEK BREAKDOWNweek 1The first morning I immediately noticed a brighter complexion. I was glowing seriously glowing and I think because of how fair I am my skin was actually slightly tinted from the product, which I didn't mind. It actually made me look a bit naturally tanner. My skin also felt and looked visibly smoother, but nothing crazy. As I used the product for the next 3 nights I absolutely noticed this trend staying. My skin really was glowing and revealed a much brighter complexion compared to the slight dullness I had before. week 2 + 3Here comes the purge. My skin was glowing the entire first week but as I crept closer to week 2 I noticed tiny milia-like bumps all over my skin. I decided to remain calm and keep masking on (LOL) + after the 3rd day, I was noticing several tiny pimples starting to come to surface. As well as.... whiteheads. I haven't dealt with whiteheads in a long time as I use aha's regularly in my skin routine but this product was clearly purging my skin, pulling all of the debris out. I decided to go for a 4th day and throughout these two weeks I was still not experiencing any irritation. This continued for the most part through week 3 as well. Week 4By the end of the 3rd week my skin was beginning to look extremely clear, smooth + radiant. I can see a huge improvement from my week 1 photos in regards to my skin texture, brightness + clarity. Overall, I really enjoy this product + feel that it did exactly what it advertises to do. This is a win in my skincare book!
