New York Fashion Week '18
New York Fashion Week... where designers new and old work tirelessly to showcase their upcoming collections. As NYFW '18 came to a close this past Friday, we were left day dreaming about some killer statement pieces (and makeup looks) ranging from bright and bold, chic and fresh-faced, to gothic rocker.
Here are my top 4 NYFW designers and favorite looks from their upcoming collections.
We have had one beautiful, HOT summer here in Seattle. Today I was excited because it was a bit gloomier (I know, i'm crazy). Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the sun but having it be a bit chillier meant that I could rock my new shawl. Also, I was able to finally step out in my brand new dolce vita booties *jumps up and down*.
I cannot wait to get back to school because I will have my camera again. These Iphone photos just aren't working out!

A bohemian outfit is filled with fun prints, layering, and chunky jewelry. Of course we also can't forget the long, haven't brushed my hair in weeks hairstyle. For those that may not know what "bohemian" or "bohemianism" is it's essentially a group of like-minded people who are free-spirited vagabonds. What a lifestyle I wish I could live. Wandering from place to place, doesn't that sound like a dream?
Unfortunately, I can't go and drop $200 on a perfect boho-inspired outfit from Free People, so I make due with what I have. Today my outfit is bohemian inspired with a bit of a modern touch.

I'm like most college students: broke. I love fashion and do splurge on very nice things every so often but I LOVE a good thrift find. Now, once you get past the off-putting smell, and obscure mix of customers then gaze past that hideous 80's track suit.... you might just find that piece of clothing that makes it all worth while.
The other day I decided to make the 15 minute trek to the nearest Goodwill (and yes, I say trek because I hate driving so this is far for me) and found some great items. There is one item that most people hate but I simply adore... mom jeans. I mean, I could put those babies on, sit down and have a whole cake to myself and no one would even notice! Maybe.
I ended up spending $29 and walking out with a pair of high waisted mom jeans, high waisted shorts with a fabulous Betty Boop patch on the right bun, black velvet spaghetti trap dress, floral spaghetti strap dress, and a long sleeve sheet floral dress. I did find it a bit humorous that the quiet man behind me found my sheer floral dress to be, "a really cute top." Not sure if that was genuinely a nice compliment or a tad creepy since the whole thing is well..... SHEER.
Who's says you need to spend a ton of money to look great? I did however need to wash these items numerous times to get the smell out. When I have time I would love to go to the thrift stores in Seattle. That's where the real treasures are hidden.
I'm a 24 year old from Seattle, WA who's a little out of the ordinary. I have a unique style that i've learned to adapt to what I l love, and not what is deemed "acceptable". Fashion is a chance to explore, take risks, and have FUN. Isn't that what life is all about? ;)
